Jim, thanks for this and other of your posts. I just re-read this post and I fully agree that the climate movement is intrinsically political and your post is a comprehensively argued guide for this essential arena of action. Sure, there are plenty of bases for panic in regard to climate change, but there are significant examples--I point to the Biden-era IIJA an IRA as examples--that prove legislative progress to mitigate climate change is possible. Obviously, the largely illegal clawback by Trump (a.k.a., President Big Oil Stooge) was a gut punch, but the lesson to be learned here in America is that a vibrant democracy is step one toward climate progress.

In America, the climate fight is a polical fight, without doubt. Thank you for such a clear statement of this.

To all my friends in the climate movement - Happy Fourth of July! Thank you for all you’re doing for climate freedom. May these words ring true for us today: “ It is time for us to get political and join forces with allies to defeat our political opponents who are working hard to deny us our freedom. It is time to create broad-based coalitions to enact and implement policies that achieve speed and scale of transformation and free us from climate consequences. It is well past time for us to understand our own power and utilize our power to the fullest.

It is time to make our stand. It is time to be climate patriots together.”
